Ever since Carlos Queiroz took over Iran, he has made them 1 of the toughest country to beat(ask Argentina in WC14). While Iran don't have too many attacking stars like South Korea or Japan, they are defensively sound and in attack they are pretty efficient as well.
As for South Korea, fans are getting abit fed up with coach Uli Stielike.Their playing style is ugly and they have struggled to beat teams they are supposed to win easily.
Like I mentioned, South Korea may have the star attacking players but Iran has the system to fit in their hardworking players instead. After watching South Korea in recent games and how they merely beat China and Qatar, I'm not too convinced by them. Even if Iran doesn't win here, I doubt they will lose.
Iran worked extremely hard to come out with a 1-0 win against an Uzbekistan side who are in top of their form at the moment. This put them level on points with Tuesday’s opponent South Korea, who had won their matchday 3 fixture against Qatar by a 3-2 margin. Both teams have previously won and drawn in each of their first two fixtures.
With the likes of China, Syria and Qatar struggling, Uzbekistan is the only team that are looking to threaten the authority of Korea and Iran in Group A. This in turn makes the matchday four of Group A extremely important as a combination of results could open the group wide open.
